Paul Pogba could leave the Red Devils in the summer | Manchester United Transfer News

Paul Pogba could be on his way out of Old Trafford this summer

Paul Pogba still wants to leave Manchester United and is being tracked by both Real Madrid and his former club Juventus, Sky Sports reports. However, a departure in the winter is off the books and instead, the Frenchman will most probably leave Old Trafford in the summer. Pogba is currently sidelined with an ankle injury and has not featured for United since the turn of the year.

Manchester United are reluctant to let the Frenchman leave this month because replacing him in January will be extremely hard. However, things could change by the end of the season. The Frenchman’s contract runs until the summer of 2021, which means the Red Devils could demand a hefty fee for his transfer.

Real Madrid and Juventus interested in Pogba

Real Madrid and Juventus are both interested in acquiring the services of the player and both clubs are in constant touch with the player’s agent Mino Raiola. The Frenchman prefers a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, but Juventus are also hopeful that they can lure their former player back to Turin. Pogba played for the Serie A side for 4 seasons from 2012, before making a world-record move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2016.

Since the move back to the Premier League, the Frenchman has failed to regain his best form. Even under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has continuously expressed a desire to rebuild United around the Frenchman, Pogba has blown hot and cold and struggled to justify his world-class tag. This season, his injury has put the Red Devils in a tight spot; Pogba has appeared just 8 times in all competitions so far for his team this season and is yet to score a goal.

A change of club, it would seem, would certainly suit the player who has been consistently brilliant for the French team and regularly poor for his club. This summer might actually see the end of the Pogba episode at Old Trafford, however, acquiring his services will not be cheap.

Real Madrid had expressed interest in Pogba last summer but balked at the 150m asking price set by the Red Devils. Because he will have just one year left in his contract by the summer of 2020, United might be forced to lower their valuation of the player.

However, taking into consideration his age and world-class abilities, Pogba still will demand an astronomical transfer fee and could spark a battle for his signature in the summer.
